A native of Chicago, Kathleen completed her undergraduate work in Political Science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. She spent several years working in the nation's capital. She was on the staff of Senator Paul Simon while she worked on her graduate degree at Catholic University of America. She then spent several years with the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C.
One of the most profound experiences of her life took place on a sunny afternoon in July of 1995. She went to the farm of Miracle the White Buffalo in Janesville, Wisconsin. There she felt blessed by the presence of that sacred animal. Meeting Miracle was, for Kathleen, a life-changing experience.
After relocating to North Carolina to write, Kathleen's early work appeared as guest commentaries in a local newspaper. Her first manuscript By the Side of the Buffalo Pasture was published in August of 2006. Her second book, Reflections on a Haitian Pilgrimage, continues her commemoration of Miracle's influence on her life. It is scheduled for release in the late summer of 2008.
These days, she combines her ongoing writing with workshops during which she brings the experience of having been to Miracle's farm through an exercise in guided meditation titled Intuitive Grace.
