This book is the second in a series that tells the story of Her influence on my life. By the Side of the Buffalo Pasture is the first memoir I wrote. It is about my early visits to her farm.

In the Spring of 2000 I went on a mission trip to Haiti with my faith community.It was an interesting journey. From the moment I learned about the trip, my guardian angel was especially attentive. There is much magic in the Haitian hillsides. Ihope my story captures some of it. I've been told it's a tale hope and reconciliation and recovery. And most importantly of caring for the children.

If you visit Haiti today, a Voodoo priest may tell you his people believe the spirits of their ancestors live in the mists that hover over the mountains. You may believe him.

If you visit Haiti today, you may hear drummers calling those ancient spirits to their aid. You may join them.

You may contemplate the anger of the old ones. They were grossly mistreated. During a sleepless night you may find yourself in a fervert prayer of forgiveness, not just for yourself, but for all those responsible for the travesty commited upon an innocent race of people. What happened has to have been wrong and we are sorry. We are all very sorry.
