Publications: By the Side of the Buffalo Pasture | Reflections on a Haitian Pilgrimage

     I was born in Chicago and raised in the suburbs; received a B.A. in Political Science from S.I.U. Carbondale and a J.D. from Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America in Washington DC; spent several years in Washington D.C. some on the staff of Senator Paul Simon others as an Attorney-Advisor at the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Then I moved to Western North Carolina, hiked in the mountains and wrote two books. I am happy to be back in the heartland, where the open fields offer new perspective to my current manuscript, Walls.

My Mission Statement

    Each day I will bear in mind that God’s greatest gift is Love.  I came to earth to remember this despite the influences contributing to my forgetfulness.  Long ago, I signed on for a job – to help create a kingdom.  No one promised it was going to be easy and it hasn’t been.  But regardless of how many times I’ve missed the mark, I will try to sharpen my aim. While practicing, I will spotlight the many wonderful demonstrations of Love around me.  I see them in the kindness of a smile, the beauty of a friendship, the bursting forth of a flower from its bud.   These examples of Love will sustain me through challenging times when I witness injustice, hatred and pain caused by ignorance.  And they will uphold me when I stumble yet again.

     During my lifetime, I won’t forget that meeting Miracle was a gift, a rare opportunity to experience a dimension of the great unknown previously unavailable to me.  I am willing to share this gift and the story of Her presence and legend with anyone willing to receive it and the possibilities of its blessings.  I will do this with an awareness of the many stories of hope and inspiration that have touched people around the globe throughout the ages.  I understand this era is part of my story and it is stories themselves that transmit encouragement, acceptance and inspiration which we all need during this time of waiting.
